Cynthia Vacca Davis’s Intersexion Is a Book You Can’t Put Down
When I first heard this book described I had little idea what intersex meant, but I did know that there was definitely a story here.
It was a lot to take in, as intersex is such an unknown condition. But I’ve come to learn that it’s a perfectly normal variation in physiology, and not nearly as uncommon as you think.
But what really hooked me were the stories. Can you imagine what it might be like in a junior high locker room when your body is changing as an adolescent intersex person? That’s just the beginning of book that goes on to tell the story of Danny and his incredible, very human journey of self-discovery among family, friends, and faith community, as well as the likewise powerful story of his friend Cynthia, the author of this amazing book, who’s life was forever changed by their friendship.
